A genuine treasure in the region, since 2015 the Baie de Somme has been one of the
“Grands Sites de France” (being a site with historic, artistic, and picturesque character). This countryside gem is nowadays a habitat for numerous migratory birds, but also various species of seals, which you will no doubt catch a glimpse of. Amongst this panorama of sand, marshes and cliffs, numerous writers and artists have found inspiration in the beauty of this location. Examples include Victor Hugo, Edgar Degas and Georges Seurat. Others of note are Jules Verne, Colette and Alfred Manessier. During your stay in Picardy, you will have the chance to discover this absolutely spectacular location, but also other tourist sites and small pieces of heaven.
