Family, sharing, values…
A lovely story in the Somme department
Les Aubépines, is above all a story about men and women, the Doudoux family who have run the campsite for 40 years now. A delightful family story beginning in 1982, right in the middle of fields and only 1 kilometre from the Plage de la Maye beach. It arose thanks to a nature-lover, Michel Doudoux, who had the original idea to transform a bare field into a superb campsite, in the heart of the Baie de Somme.
The first 15 years involved authentic camping! The Les Aubépines campsite was only offering pitches for tents, caravans and campers back then. Around 100 plots in total, in particularly delightful and landscaped surroundings, enabled it to get its first 2 stars.
The 2000s see Isabelle Doudoux joining her father’s business venture. Together, they decide to give a new impetus to Les Aubépines by starting extension works to develop new residential areas with mobile homes, in landscaped surroundings.
With the same impetus, to make the holidaymaker stays ever more delightful, the Doudoux family invests in new equipment and facilities, which augurs well for our campsite’s facelift. In 2005, the outdoor swimming pool is opened.
In 2010, Michel Doudoux wishes to hand down the fruits of his life’s work, and transfers his shares. He is delighted to place the campsite into the expert hands of his daughter Isabelle and his son-in-law, Cédric Waechter. That same year, the Les Aubépines campsite joins the group “Flower Campings”. This collaboration is the fruit of shared common values, those offering guests a family campsite, on a human scale, in the heart of the countryside.
In 2017, wishing to further satisfy its guests, the Les Aubépines campsite again decides to develop new facilities. A lovely modern brasserie, a new grocery and especially a superb heated, indoor swimming pool equipped with a splash pad, thus complements the range of facilities already on-site.
Nowadays, the gamble seems to have paid off for the Doudoux family, with the campsite becoming a sought-after location for loyal guests. It takes pride in being, we hope, amongst the best campsites in the Baie de Somme estuary!
Les Aubépines, above all a story about sharing
Since opening our establishment 40 years ago, we have always put people at the heart of our concerns.
Day after day, always with the same desire and energy, the Doudoux family has welcomed not only new arrivals, but also loyal holidaymakers. Moreover, this loyalty is certainly our greatest recognition, being the fruits of our labours accomplished, and the love of our land.
An energy shared by all our colleagues. Without them, the campsite would not be what it is today. At the bar, reception, swimming pool, in the kitchen…Some have passed on their know-how and passion for numerous seasons. They have enabled considerable development in service quality on the establishment.
Each season, we’re always ready to welcome holidaymakers on the Les Aubépines campsite with a smile. Your well-being is our priority, and we do our utmost so your holiday comes off in the best possible way.
With unwavering enthusiasm, our colleagues are on hand to sort out your everyday worries, and will be delighted to share all the best places in Le Crotoy and our lovely Hauts de France region.
When our colleagues work with a smile on their faces, it is the guarantee of a successful season and happy holidaymakers!
Our team, a large family!
Isabelle and Cédric, the managers of our small piece of heaven, are very proud of their colleagues who make up a talented team, with day-to-day responsibility for the campsite’s operation.
Having arrived in 2005, Peggy has both grown personally and witnessed Les Aubépines expand. She has become an essential figure on the Les Aubépines campsite. Deputy Manager, she has followed and contributed to the campsite’s development, led on projects and improvements. With a dazzling smile and exuberant energy, she has endeavoured for years to make holidaymakers’ stays unforgettable times.
Marie is often the first person to welcome you on Les Aubépines! Head of reception, every day she answers any questions you have and takes care of your bookings. Particularly attached to the region, she also delights in advising you on the best activities to do during your holiday!
Covering the length and breadth of the Les Aubépines paths, Jean-Michel, the camping maintenance manager is the campsite’s technician, who bustles about sorting out little everyday issues as they arise! With his colleagues, Philippe who is responsible for technology, and Olivier in charge of green spaces, they help you when a bulb goes, or a gas bottle needs changing. Friendly and discreet, they take care of your living environment, and the flowers and shrubs on the campsite.
They fire up your taste buds right through your holiday, Jean-Charles and Cathy are the restaurant managers at the “Pause en Baie” restaurant. Enthusiastic about cuisine and eager to enable you to discover local products, each day they give of their best to concoct ever more delicious dishes for you.
Our perfect housewives! Lou, Hélène and Annick support our housekeeper on a daily basis. Together, they ensure your rental accommodation and the communal areas are clean but also take care of your orders for sheets and towels. Convivial and cheerful, they also take the time to meet your requests, so your stay happens in the best possible way!
The team would not be complete without Mister Flower and Dino, our two superb mascots, boosted by good humour! They are also big fans of hugs which they give to children and parents in equal measure!
